MS linked to Gut Health

Scientists just uncovered a major gut-brain connection: Two specific gut bacteria may trigger multiple sclerosis (MS)—and could open the door to new treatments.
In a study of twins (one with MS, one without), researchers found two bacterial strains more common in those with the disease. Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium were found to be more common in the MS -affected sibling. Even more wild? When these bacteria were transferred to mice, they began showing MS-like symptoms. This could mean future MS treatments might not target the immune system—but the gut.
