MicroNeedling

Microneedling is performed with a pen-like instrument that has 12 to 36 tiny micro-needles on its tip. The entire face is first numbed with a topical ointment to ensure a painless treatment. After applying a thin layer of serum to the skin, the pen is gently moved across the skin’s surface, where it creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin. This process triggers the body’s natural production of growth factors, fresh collagen, and elastin for smoother and thicker skin. The microneedling process will also help topical skin care products penetrate 3000% more. The number of passes I make depends on the patient’s individual skin health and skin regimen.

I use the state-of-the-art AcuMicro Pen, which offers an adjustable needle depth. This is helpful in treating the varying thickness of the skin tissue in the face, neck, and décolletage. It works just as well on areas with thinner skin, like the forehead and crow’s feet, as on areas with thicker skin, like the cheek and upper lip. Microneedling with the AcuMicro is highly preferred to other treatments because it works without causing as much damage to the epidermis as dermal rolling or laser treatment.

Although my microneedling patients usually start to see results one to two weeks after the first treatment, a series of three to six treatments, spaced four weeks apart, is recommended. you will get a personalized treatment schedule based on your individual needs and goals. If you have deep wrinkles, substantial skin damage, or scarring, you may need more than six treatments to see your desired results.  Ultimately, new collagen and elastin formation in the skin often results in visible improvement for up to one year.

Q: What is Microneedling?

A: Microneedling involves the use of tiny, sterile needles that create controlled micro “injuries" to the skin. Microneedling can be performed with a AnteAge microneedling solution containing Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cell and Hyaluronic Acid. Microneedling is able to allow for deeper penetration of serum or PRP into the skin and boost elastin and collagen production. The result is a more uniform skin texture and tone. When combined with RF, microneedling also creates a tightening effect with a higher stimulation of collagen production.

A: Microneedling can minimize pore size, improve fine lines and wrinkles, create a skin tightening effect, improve the appearance of scars, and reduce hyperpigmentation.

Q: Does Microneedling hurt?

A: A numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to the treatment to minimize any discomfort.

Q: Is Microneedling performed with serums?

A: Yes, due to the 3000% more absorption that micro needling gives us, we use three serums to concentrate on specific needs.  We use Swiss Apple Vegan Stem cell serum. Q: What is nano needling?

If you are concerned about fine lines & wrinkles, swelling, or sagging skin, then nano-needling is for you. If your skin care concerns include deep wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks or deep acne scars, than micro-needling would be the treatment for that. 

Nano-Needling on the other hand works a little different. It does use the same type of oscillating motion to treat the skin but the cartridge encompasses 81 silicone tips. These microscopic hair-like cones separate the cells within the epidermis to allow active products to be pushed into the skin. Nano-Needling only affects the epidermis, treating within the upper .15 mm of the skin. The benefits of this serum infusion treatment include pigmentation reduction, increased cell turnover, skin rejuvenation and an immediate glow with no downtime. This treatment can be done weekly to exfoliate the skin. This treatment is used on the under eye area to reduce bags and dark circles and can also be used during pregnancy.

Nano-Needling is also used in connection with Micro needling- for a skin boost 2 weeks after your initial micro needling treatment and for your yearly upkeep micro needling treatment.

Eye puffiness appears due to liquid retention as a consequence of higher permeability of blood vessels, which when added to bilirubin accumulation (from hemoglobin breakdown) induces vascular pigmentation and therefore dark circles. In addition, the deterioration of skin support proteins, like collagen and elastin, contributes to an increased visibility of such signs, besides the development of wrinkles.

Recovery and Results

There is virtually no downtime after microneedling. Skin may look slightly pink or have moderate redness, but there are very few other side effects. We strongly recommend using products provided to you exclusively for the first four days. Mineral-based make up may be used if necessary during this period of time. After full recovery, you may continue your usual product regimen.

How long will my microneedling results last?

Microneedling triggers the formation of new collagen and elastin for firmer, more youthful looking skin. The results typically last 1 year after treatment. You can prolong your results by using the skin care regimen that we recommend. For best results 6 treatments are advised. Plan on maintenance treatments once or twice a year after your initial treatment series to keep up your results.

How will I look after my microneedling treatment?

Your skin might look slightly pink to moderately red for up to 24 hours after treatment. We can recommend products to minimize these symptoms and enhance the results.

• Moderate to severe chronic skin disease such as eczema and psoriasis

• Blood dyscrasias, patients on anticoagulant therapy

• Extreme keloidal tendency

• Patient on chemo/radiotherapy

Acupuncture Facelift

This Technique is for lifting and contouring the facial muscles while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. It can be an add onto any acupuncture or micro needling service.

This Treatment lasts about an hour. It includes fine acupuncture needles used to lift the facial muscles, increase blood flow and stimulate collagen production. While the needles sit, a Celluma infrared light therapy is placed to help boost collagen production and tackle any fine lines and wrinkles. Next, special facial cups are used to continue plumping the skin and draining the lymphatic system, this is to decrease any puffiness and help lift and contour the facial muscles. Lastly, you are treated to a facial Gua Sha treatment which helps give the skin that extra glow and firmness we all want.
